James joined InfraRed in 1997.

James is Co-Head of InfraRed's infrastructure business line and is responsible for the new value-add greenfield infrastructure fund. His role covers both fund raising and securing investments.

Previously, James was responsible for an environmental infrastructure fund and played a key role in establishing TRIG, InfraRed’s listed renewable energy fund. James was also part of the investment team of the first two development infrastructure funds.

Prior to InfraRed, James started his career as an engineer with Mott MacDonald before moving to the project advisory unit of Hambros Bank, advising on early UK Private Finance Initiative projects. 

James has a BEng (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Exeter University and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.
