Oasis Academy is part of Oasis Multi-Academy Trust, providing education for c.1,625 pupils aged 3–18. InfraRed’s relationship with the school goes back to 2004 when we first invested in a 30-year concession for the design, construction, financing and operation of the secondary school and community library in Croydon. The school now forms part of the HICL portfolio.
Working in five teams, the students were given the task to present a renewable technology proposal. The challenge, which simulated a real-life workplace scenario, required the students to demonstrate their research, analysis and presentation skills. In the process they learned about renewable energy and assessed the risks and benefits of their respective propositions, ultimately making a case for investment to an InfraRed panel of judges.
