InfraRed Capital Partners acquires UK schools portfolio for APG

19 August 2026 Investments
InfraRed Capital Partners (“InfraRed”), a leading international infrastructure asset manager, today announced the acquisition of a portfolio of nine UK school public-private partnership (PPP) projects from INPP. The transaction was undertaken for a separately managed account (“SMA”) with pension services provider APG, on behalf of pension fund ABP, as sole limited partner.

The portfolio comprises operational education sites across London, serving thousands of students through modern secondary, special educational needs, and further education facilities, delivered as part of the Building Schools for the Future (‘BSF’) programme. The assets provide essential social infrastructure under long-term, availability-based concession agreements. Through its specialist asset management capabilities, InfraRed will seek to enhance operational performance and preserve asset quality across the life of each concession through to handback.

The acquisition increases the SMA’s exposure to high-quality, mid-market UK social infrastructure assets, building on its existing portfolio.

Sean Watson, Partner at InfraRed, said on behalf of the SMA: “This acquisition reflects our shared conviction in the long-term value of essential social infrastructure assets and InfraRed’s ability to source and actively manage investments in sectors that require specialist expertise. The portfolio consists of well-established education facilities that play an important role in their local communities, providing critical services and supporting positive social outcomes.”

The SMA was established to strengthen ABP’s exposure to resilient core infrastructure assets and increase its allocation to social infrastructure. InfraRed has a longstanding track record of investing in and actively managing social infrastructure assets across the UK and Europe.
