James Abbott is the Chief Operating Officer, responsible for overseeing InfraRed’s Global Operations, Corporate Finance, Tax and Technology functions.
James plays a central role in driving InfraRed’s operational effectiveness, leading initiatives to support our assets, new investments and funds, building for growth and to meet our strategic objectives.
James brings deep operational expertise and a strong commercial perspective, with a focus on disciplined risk management and long-term capital stewardship. Prior to joining InfraRed in 2025, he served as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel at John Laing, a KKR portfolio company, where he led complex operational, business and asset management workstreams and helped reposition the business for future success.
James has over 15 years’ experience in infrastructure and infrastructure-related corporate finance, and more than 20 years’ experience across alternative investments and financial services.
