James Abbott is the Chief Operating Officer, responsible for overseeing InfraRed’s Global Operations, Corporate Finance, Tax and Technology functions.
James plays a central role in driving InfraRed’s operational effectiveness, leading initiatives to support our assets, new investments and funds, building for growth and to meet our strategic objectives.
Prior to joining InfraRed in 2025, James was Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel at John Laing, the mid-market infrastructure investment portfolio company of KKR, where he led its central and legal functions, repositioning the business for future success.
James has over 15 years of experience in the infrastructure sector and infrastructure-related corporate finance, as well as more than 20 years in alternative investments and financial services. His expertise spans infrastructure, private equity, credit and real estate asset classes.
