InfraRed appoints James Abbott as Chief Operating Officer

InfraRed Capital Partners (“InfraRed”), a leading international infrastructure asset manager, has appointed James Abbott as Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) and a member of its Management Committee. James will build on InfraRed’s established platform and processes to shape the business’s future growth, driving value for investors and clients.

Joining from John Laing, James will work alongside InfraRed’s experienced management team to realise the business’s key priorities. This includes supporting on key initiatives, such as the expansion of InfraRed’s physical presence in target markets like the DACH region. As part of his role, James will oversee the company’s daily operations and will build on the significant progress to date in adopting automation and digitalisation tools.

James has a proven track record, having held several senior roles in leading infrastructure and asset management firms over the course of a 20+ year career. Most recently, James was COO & General Counsel at John Laing, where he led its central functions, playing a key role in positioning the business for future success. Prior to working at John Laing, James was General Counsel and Head of Compliance at Park Square Capital LLP and AnaCap Financial Partners LLP, where he led the legal and compliance teams and played a key role in scaling operations and risk management for both businesses.
