InfraRed Capital Partners (“InfraRed”) is allocating $150m in capital to LiveOak Fiber, a new U.S.-based regional broadband services provider. This investment will fund a next-generation broadband fiber network to fortify critical digital infrastructure, beginning in underserved Glynn County, Georgia and Okaloosa County, Florida.
When complete, LiveOak Fiber’s regional network will provide fiber-based broadband internet and communications solutions to serve homes and businesses throughout the Southeastern United States. Residents and businesses can expect a robust internet service with symmetrical speeds up to 10Gbps – the fastest offered in the U.S. LiveOak Fiber also addresses the needs of the growing business communities in the region, with advanced business services including dedicated private connectivity, Unified Communications, and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE).
Jack Paris, Head of Americas at InfraRed Capital Partners said:
“Closing the digital divide by investing in attractive economic opportunities that enhance participation in the digital economy is essential. InfraRed’s support of the LiveOak Fiber team’s vision of empowering underserved communities through critical infrastructure and superior service is a much-needed step toward this goal. We are committed to investing in sustainable community assets like LiveOak.”
Jody Craft, President of LiveOak Fiber said:
“Glynn and Okaloosa counties currently lack the critical digital infrastructure services needed to foster both a growing population and attract new business. With InfraRed’s support, we are presented with an opportunity to displace the outdated incumbent networks with state-of-the-art fiber optics backed by best-in-class service. This will allow these regional communities to leap the broadband divide, rather than simply close it.”
