InfraRed Capital Partners (InfraRed), the leading investment manager focused on infrastructure and real estate, hosts its annual science project in partnership with Oasis Academy, Croydon, as a part of its Community Engagement Programme.
On 15th July, thirty Oasis Academy students visited the London offices of InfraRed for the final stage of their renewable energy science project. Working in teams, the students were given a task to present a renewable technology proposal to a panel of judges from InfraRed.
The project is one of InfraRed’s Community Engagement initiatives, developed together with schools within its portfolio of assets. The six week programme, tailored for students aged between 12 and 14, kicked-off with a project overview at the Academy in mid-June, moving onto the site visit and a series of workshops and challenges, which introduced the children to the world of renewables.
During the following few weeks, with the ongoing support from InfraRed mentors, the children worked towards the final stage of the project. On the final day, immersed in a real-life workplace environment, the six teams of students were challenged to present their case for investment in different renewable energy projects to an InfraRed panel of judges, who selected the winning team based on their resourceful research, compelling business case, quality of the presentation, and collaborative teamwork.
