At InfraRed we aim to make lives better through investing in infrastructure assets which provide essential services to communities and societies around the world. We do this by unlocking capital growth potential of new development infrastructure and maintaining existing operational infrastructure to provide reliable and durable assets for their users and generate long, predictable income streams for investors.
InfraRed is more than a financial investor. We invest in real assets which contribute positively to society, whether that be promoting social development, improving quality of life or creating a positive environmental impact, both now and for future generations.
Investing responsibly is an integral part of how we operate, and we believe that a sustainability-led mindset is essential to delivering long-term success. Positive outcomes for investors and stakeholders are intrinsically linked, and we take our responsibilities to both seriously.
Leader in our field
With over 20 years of investment expertise and over US$10bn of equity invested in infrastructure across the globe, we have a comprehensive understanding of how to develop, structure and operate high quality community assets in our areas of expertise. Our assets support their communities and provide essential and resilient services to users, in Europe, the Americas or Australasia.
Our expertise spans social infrastructure, regulated assets, transportation, communication, low-carbon energy generation and energy storage. This rich cross-sector expertise in large and operationally complex essential assets and our long pedigree in our chosen markets underpins our track record of delivery for both investors and communities.
Reputation for innovation
We made our first investment in infrastructure over 20 years ago and built our first windfarm over 10 years ago. Our reputation for innovation was further enhanced when we launched HICL Infrastructure Company Limited (HICL), the first infrastructure investment company to list on the London Stock Exchange in 2006. In 2013 we listed The Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG), our second listed investment company and now the largest renewables portfolio amongst the UK investment companies.
We have been one of the first to provide innovative responses to the challenges of energy transition and increased demand put on the energy networks. Now we are a leading provider of flexible generation, energy storage solutions and energy enabling infrastructure.
Our employees are encouraged to think creatively to find new ways to add value, for example directly linking ESG performance to financial outcomes through sustainability-linked loans on a number of our funds.
We invest in real assets which contribute positively to society, whether that be promoting social development, improving quality of life or creating a positive environmental impact, both now and for future generations. We do so whilst generating sustainable returns for our investors and attracting further capital into the sector. We achieve this through innovation and capital expenditure, active asset and portfolio management and engagement with clients, key stakeholders and supply chain contractors. This is what drives our business and our people.
To enhance the resilience of our individual assets and our portfolio as a whole, we have integrated Sustainability analysis into our investment processes to ensure that related risks and opportunities are considered throughout the investment cycle.
